I firmly believe that the lack of structured teaching in landscape and observational drawing within the geology community inhibits students and experienced geologists alike. This essay in Geoscientist, the journal of the Geological Society, is the first step in a series of lectures, talks, worksheets and field trips to explore how this can be improved.
